In the yesterday news there was about a fire of a wooden house somewhere which they named in Espoo but which I had not heard of and which sounded like one of the major old district in the center of Helsinki, just the word "town" added in front. So I was left wondering, was it talk about changing the name of Helsinki to just Espoo, which is this neighbouring town in this same metropolitan area. The trees in the picture looked somewhat like Helsinki style, not so much like usually in Espoo.
But come to think of it, officially changing such a name would maybe bring into town lots of evil foreigners wanting the "hell" name back, so things could go worse. So in practice one could change the name only to what it and the place already are like, so mostly to a nickname or to a better description of the local lufe abd culture there, like for example Rationality, Garden town or Green town, or some old nickname like "Hesa" in Finnish, which in English is something like "Is allowed" or maybe "Ok".
