The use of names may vary a lot around the world. But as far as I understand a person's name is given to kind of describe the person in some way, to kind of give that person a place in the society suited positively to what the person is like, and on the other hand to warn that the person tends to be only of such a type and not something fitted to everything in a good quality way. So for a baby and a child the name refers to some positive place in the society, to some skills, values, character traits, interests, which the child wants to cultivate.
But such is usually not the best version from the point of view of the society or of the world. For it to be good enough in the society and in the world, it ought to follow ordinary school taught civiliced wisdom, especially healthy common sense, basic picture of the world, fair play (that is the idea in market economies too), healthy wisdom of life and wishing well for the world, following civiliced values in a good quality way.
Such is often not the case, so names also warn of the person being of a certain kind, and not perfect. So one must not replace things in one's picture of the world or positions in the society or forefigures on areas of life or people interested in some areas of life by persons with a such name or somewhat such a name. For example a person with first name referring to singing or to gnomes is often a person who is used to getting such room for one's life without cultivating it, and to getting the position of such wisdom without respecting the values that are the ground for it's position in the world.
Last names i.e. family names are more like signs of some knowledge for others who are interested in things associated with such a name. But anyway, there are different types of individuals with such a name too, which the variety of first names seeks to communicate. And the names are just to refer to the individuals, and not to force them to some ready form. All individuals should follow basic civiliced wisdom which is typically the idea of, the jystification for school. One ought not allow any exceptions from following basic common sense, fair play, healthy kind of wisdom of life and civiliced values in a good quality way.
